Tumblr Scooped Buy Yahoo

http://www.empowernetwork.com/mr0cool/blog/tumbler-scooped-buy-yahoo/?id=mr0cool

So Yahoo is back in the game buy buying up tumbler for a cool 1.1 billion dollars putting Yahoo back up with Google and Facebook, but why is this? Why pay out that sort of money for this blogging system? Tumbler began back in 2006 and released to the average jo in 2007, and the idea behind this was simple, to build a system to provide tumbling blogs to the world, in a way this is more of a glorified Twitter account then anything els, but much easier and user-friendly. You can think of this as more of a social networking platform then a blogging site, being linked up to Facebook and Twitter you can touch everyone on your friends and associates network and share videos, pictures, sites, etc. If you haven't done so check it out, you will find it a breeze to work with and finding your way around is a doodle. In the short term this is going to give Yahoo some credibility and put it back in the frame, in the long term, it's about the money (obviously) and I'm sure you will be seeing some advertisements popping up around the Tumbler. But what dose this mean to Tumbler, well with the team up with Yahoo  and with their money Tumbler's visibility will increase ten fold. So with this now in motion I am sure this is giving Google a run for it's money and giving more options to the consumer, which we will all be happy for.
